INTO ALIVENESS
Was will entstehen … gesehen, gehört und gelebt werden, wenn wir uns im Kontext der Contact Improvisation begegnen? Wo kitzelt mich meine Neugierde? Was will sich entwickeln, auswickeln, entfalten, wachsen?

Event Details
We are very happy and excited to announce our second Silent Contact Improvisation Retreat on the Sunshine Coast. Our first attempt in April 2025 was already deeply satisfying with its quality of dancing, connecting inwards and with the way we lived through it as a little community.
Now we want to try out all the ideas we had in our reflections to reduce effort, allow more spaciousness and clarity and to deepen the nourishing experiences and connections even more.
When
Sunday 12 April 2026, 4pm (arrival from 1pm) to Saturday 18 April around midday
Where
On a 140 acre property with multiple options for camping, a small dam, connection to the Conondale National Park.
It is a school camp with basic facilities and lots of nature. We will dance on Aikido mats in a tent hall, which is rainproof and has only a few walls, so we’ll stay connected to nature while dancing.
243 Booloumba Creek Road, Cambroon QLD 4552
Why Silence
90 per cent of our communication is nonverbal, thanks to the little signals we send through our mimic, body posture, and adjustments in orientation and distance.
When there is silence, all our senses wake up to feed and support us. The nervous systems are better at talking to each other to create safety and connection. Within the silence, we might sense more of this profound human intelligence.
We want to reduce words and encourage our body-mind systems for a more substantial presence of images, more awareness of feelings and or subtle inner voices to practice our intuition muscle to guide and enrich our journeys.
We nourish a sense of being present and alive on our own journey while feeling held by and embedded in a group.
It is a setting where we build resilience to navigate uncomfortable situations, grow trust in our capacity for inner processes, and be more fully human.
Who
This retreat is for dancers who generally experience focused Contact Improvisation Jams and Underscores as inspiring and nourishing spaces. Some experience around silence or meditation is useful, but not essential.
Registration is open now!
Time
april 12 (Sunday) - 18 (Saturday)
