OPENING MORE – KNOWING LESS

I wonder what helps me to have more options available in my dancing ? … and through that less the feeling of always doing the same but instead feeling more free.

There is a technical side to it. Our nervous system intuitively avoids the direction backwards and upside down. Let’s go there!
From a somatic angle I want to notice where we can soften core holding patterns, like in the breath, the upper neck and the hip joints. Can we notice these limitations generously as a first step towards opening up for more, while not knowing what that is?
I also like to play with some strategies around the use of our eyes, that lure me out of the comfortable known. A bit like tricking the body and the mind to know less about what’s going to happen next.
Next to these rather practical offers for ‚opening more & knowing less’ I am deeply curios about the state of mind (& heart) that allows more inner spaciousness and makes us truly available for what the moment is asking for?

Arriving Deeply – Dancing Fully

It is a special time when we meet to dance: after all the “end of year pressures” and celebrations, yet before the regular rhythm of daily life returns. My wish is that we let the dust settle, sink into the moment, and touch an alive inner calmness that enhances our presence with “what is.” Alive pausing … a sweet way to challenge habits, open new directions, and sense connections beyond touch.

I long for a fullness in our dancing – with many flavors: juicy animal bodies, wildness and weirdness, suspension and spaciousness … yet without forcing anything.

We will use bodysurfing for an embodied sense of groundedness, connecting deeply to gravity with lush bodies, wondering if and when the urge emerges to jump, fly and fall. Somatic work and Contact Improvisation technique will serve as anchors for the physicality of our journey.

For experienced contacters
Participants should be very familiar with Contact Improvisation technique, which will be our common language for this Intensive. For your orientation: We imagine a regular practice of at least two years. In case of doubt, check in with us.

It looks like this Workshop will go ahead, but we haven’t got the final confirmation from the venue yet. It is a beautifully, freshly renovated hall in the Megalong Valley, overlooking the cliff edges. We’d be camping for at a nearby at campsite along a river.

I am very grateful and excited that Arkadiusz Kasperczyk is organising this event.
